Bringing "real world" applications to the middle school chemistry classroom is sometimes difficult. This brief airbag model project allows students to understand how chemists might apply gas laws in the development of automotive airbags. Students will collaboratively create and test model airbags. Emphasis is placed on design thinking and the application of concepts learned in class.
