Scientific Literacy is clearly in the bull’s eye of science education. The Michigan Science Standards, based on the NGSS use 3 dimensional learning to improve student knowing and understanding of science. The new Science M-Step is being developed to assess scientific literacy of our students. This session explains what scientific literacy is and gives practical strategies for teachers to use that promote and assess scientific literacy in their classroom.
