Grosse Pointe Public Schools
Multiage Teacher Grades 1 - 3
Grosse Pointe Park, MI
I have been with the Grosse Pointe Public Schools for 34 years. Prior to that I taught in Appalachia and for the Flint and Detroit Public schools. I graduated from The University of Michigan. I have a Master's Degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood. I am a science and technology geek who loves to collaborate. I am an Edmodo Ambassador, a Seesaw Ambassador, and I have also presented at The University of Michigan's 4T Virtual Ed. Tech Conference as well as their conference on Digital Writing. I have also presented at Nerd Camp Michigan, and The University of Michigan's Institute of Innovation In Education Gathering in Ann Arbor, MI. I have been a guest blogger on Richard Byrne's Free Technology For Teachers. Recently, I co-authored the second grade units for Phenomenal Science, a collaboration between CMU, the Great Lakes Bay ISDs, Oakland Schools and the Michigan Math Science Center Network to develop K- 5 units for the New Michigan Standards. I love to have conversations about redefining literacy in the 21st Century, including how the New Standards intersect with literacy standards. I am also interested in the intersection of art and science and moving from STEM to STEAM.
